This is a drawing of Lowe Brothers Hardware. It was located at the intersection of Main and First Streets in Kannapolis, North Carolina. Built around 1910, it served as the company store for a new textile mill, Cannon Mills. Caskets were manufactured and sold from the upstairs of the store. As the population and demand increased, the casket business was moved to another location. That casket company would later become what is presently known as Ladys Funeral Home. The original is not for sale however prints are available.
I am a self taught artist. I am retired and sketch as a relaxing hobby. Born and raised in Kannapolis, NC (near Charlotte), I have always enjoyed sketching. Most of my work is of landscapes, probably due to the fact that I love just sitting and watching nature. I love to sketch old barns and houses while hiking in the mountains of NC. My hope is that my art will trigger a fond memory or just bring a smile to your face. After all that's what its all about, sharing the joy of art.
