This is a little different for me but it was fun. It's kind of a conceptual style drawing of the Flatiron Building in New York. Located at 175 Fifth Ave, it was completed in 1902. It was designed by Daniel Burnham and is a "vertical Renaissance Palazzo " (yeah I looked that up) This drawing isn't to scale but the unique style called me to sketch it. Enjoy.
I am a self taught artist. I am retired and sketch as a relaxing hobby. Born and raised in Kannapolis, NC (near Charlotte), I have always enjoyed sketching. Most of my work is of landscapes, probably due to the fact that I love just sitting and watching nature. I love to sketch old barns and houses while hiking in the mountains of NC. My hope is that my art will trigger a fond memory or just bring a smile to your face. After all that's what its all about, sharing the joy of art.
