The Pumpkin Cottage
Artist
Tony Clark
Medium
Drawing - Pencil
Description
This is my impression of a painting of a small house called "The Pumpkin Cottage " by a current and brilliant painter in New Zealand named Phil Dickson. In the late 1800's an impressionist named James Nairn came to New Zealand from Scotland. He established the cottage as a retreat for artist to paint plein air. It's not for sale, just for fun, enjoy!

Looks like a great retreat,Tony! Is it orange? L
Tony Clark replied:
Thanks April! And as for the color, that's not where the name comes from. Apparently when it was a farm house, the owner would put a pumpkin up on a pole to signal his son on a passing boat that he needed help milking the cows. At least that's the legend.
