Description
This was inspired by the Mayberry Trading Post, an old store still in business since 1892. Located and visible from the Blue Ridge Parkway near Mabry mill, it was once the post office for a small community named Mayberry. I am told by the current owner that this is the community Andy Griffith uesd as the namesake for his town on his 1960's T.V. show. Its a beautiful place and near lots of other scenic locations. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful work Tony, love the nostalgia of this piece.
Tony Clark replied:
Thank you Carol! I don’t know if you have ever heard of an American TV show called Andy Griffith? But this is the area that inspired it. It’s from 1960s television.
